Did you know?
After volunteers and future homeowners work side-by-side to build a home, Habitat sells the home to a pre-qualified family using a 0%-interest mortgage. Mortgage payments are set below 30% of each family’s monthly income to ensure long term affordability. Because Habitat acts as the lender, 100% of the mortgage principal payments return to Habitat to help build more homes. Your initial investment gets “recycled” to keep building future Habitat homes.

In-Kind Donations of Materials & Services
Your generous contributions of construction materials and services will allow us to stretch each dollar further and build even more homes.
Items will be used in the home build and must be approved by the construction manager. Supplies may include but are not limited to building materials i.e. roofing, framing, paint, doors, windows, plumbing, and electrical supplies. Also needed is skilled labor i.e. roofers, electricians and plumbers.

Donate a car to the Cars for Homes Program
Your car donation can help a family build a house and the hope of a better life!
Car donations help Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Willamette Valley build homes in partnership with families within our community. Plus, donating a car, truck, boat, RV, or other vehicle is quick, easy, and your car donation may be eligible for tax deduction purposes if you itemize your tax return (consult the IRS or your tax adviser for details).
Cars for HomesTM accepts a majority of cars, trucks, boats, RVs, and other vehicles with proper, clean title and ownership documentation, and makes the arrangements to have your vehicle, keys, and title picked up for processing.
Net proceeds generated by donated vehicle sales are used by Habitat to build homes in Salem, Keizer, Polk County and the greater Santiam Canyon area.

Why should I donate my car?
- One hundred percent of the net proceeds from the sale of your donated vehicle will be used by your local Habitat affiliate to build and repair affordable homes.
- You may qualify for a tax deduction for donating a vehicle.

- Thirty percent of cars donated to Habitat are recycled for materials or sold for reusable parts.
- Recycling steel uses less energy and natural resources and produces less carbon pollution.

Leave a Legacy, Change Lives
It takes a special kind of person to make plans for the benefit of unknown people in the unknowable future, and the Habitat for Humanity Legacy Society was designed to recognize these forward-thinking friends. We are always delighted to welcome new members to this exclusive group, and there are only two requirements for membership:
- Make arrangements to benefit Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Willamette Valley beyond your lifetime. These arrangements might include a bequest in your will, or a plan that provides life income and income tax benefits, like a Charitable Gift Annuity.
- Let us know about your plans. It is not necessary to specify a dollar value for these plans, but having some idea of the details allows us to plan for the future, and is appreciated.
While it is not possible for Habitat for Humanity to provide tax or legal advice, we do have access to the Planned Giving experts who can provide information using the latest planned giving software, and we will be happy to help you sort through your options in preparation for a visit to your professional advisers.

The Gift that Builds
A donation to Habitat for Humanity is a unique, heart-warming contribution offered to honor or remember someone you love. The building materials and support your gift provides will make the dream of a decent, affordable home a reality for someone in need – extending your love to others you may never meet!
A gift announcement card will be sent to the individual you honor by email or postal mail, informing them that you have made a donation in their name. A $10 per order minimum is requested.
